A Day Program For Adults With Disabilities
Started in 1996, The Consumer Choice Day Activity Program provides both site and community-based day programming for adults with full ranges of intellectual/developmental disabilities, Monday through Friday. Persons attending these programs make meaningful choices about how and where they work, learn and participate in community activities.
Their Day Program Plans frequently emphasize increased independence and productivity, including opportunities for paid and volunteer work in the community. Enabling the individuals we serve to enjoy daily activities of their choice that constitute a healthy and enriching life, is an important element of our Programs.
My Day Counts / Orange County Adult Achievement Center also provides specialized support and appropriate activities for its senior citizens and those who are considered medically fragile.
Classroom activities include making custom jewelry for sale, weekly music therapy classes, and exercising in our gym..
We provide paid work/training opportunities that can be performed by clients with a broad range of skills and abilities.
This includes such volunteer work as delivering food to homebound elderly with Senior Services, growing vegetables and flowers for the Fullerton Arboretum and cleaning up public parks.
